Project duration — why weeks matter

Duration drives shop overhead allocation. Get it wrong and your margins lie to you.

Your shop costs the same to run whether a job takes two weeks or six. We multiply your weekly shop cost by the project duration to allocate that overhead to the quote.

Be honest. If a kitchen really takes 4 weeks of shop time including drawings, builds, finishing, and install, don't put 2 in the box because it makes the margin look better. You'll just lose money on the next ten jobs.
