Employee wages — daily, monthly, yearly
How to think about total payroll across the three time horizons, and why all three numbers matter.
Payroll is one of the largest fixed costs in any shop. We let you enter it as a daily, monthly, or yearly figure because each lens reveals something different:
- Daily — what every working day costs you in wages. Useful when estimating duration.
- Monthly — matches how most people think about cash flow and statements.
- Yearly — the number that should match your accountant's books and your T4 totals.
Always include burden — CPP, EI, WSIB, vacation pay, benefits — not just gross wages. A $25/hr employee really costs you closer to $32/hr once burden is added.
