Keep quotes clean — less is more
Why padding your scope with extras costs you the job, and what to include vs. leave out.
Don't include extras — mirrors, specialty hardware, decorative lighting — unless they're explicitly stated in the scope. The person reviewing your quote is a project manager with 10–20 other things on their plate. They are not reading your descriptions. They're scanning numbers and assuming you priced exactly what's in their head.
What's in their head is the millwork. That's it. When you include things they didn't ask for, you don't get credit — you just look expensive.
Only include add-ons when they are clearly stated in the documents or specifically requested.
