Know who's really making the call
The person approving your quote is a busy PM scanning totals — not a craftsman reading your scope.
The person approving your drawings or signing off on payment is almost always a project manager — someone mid-level, busy, and already stretched thin. They are not making a quality judgment. They are making a yes/no call based on whether your numbers match their rough mental estimate.
They are not reading your scope inclusions or catching your exclusions. They're looking at the total and comparing it to what they expected.
Don't rely on your descriptions to justify your number — your number needs to speak for itself.
